19 January 2021, the MOIG Director participated to webinar training session titled “Hiring Response Equipment – A Best Practice Guide to Organizing, Storing and Maintaining your Tier 1 Oil Spill Resources” organized by Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL); technical partner; via electronic conferencing platform.

The webinar was animated by experts from OSRL composed of Mr. Richard Anderson; Equipment Hire Technical Delivery Lead, Mme. Rachel McLachlan; Business Projects Coordinator, Mr. Matt Jeans; Senior Response Specialist, MM. Matt Wallis and Dave Oland; Senior Response Specialists and
Mr. Graham Robinson; Projects Technician.
OSRL experts presented different areas to be considered when looking to prepare Tier 1 response resources so that they can be used as effectively as possible if they are needed to respond to an oil spill incident.

This webinar highlighted some of the most effective ways to position, store, and maintain Tier 1 response resources and establish a program that ensures the response personnel can practice the deployment and safe use of the equipment.

The presentations focused on topics related to complete package, offshore, harbour, shoreline and inland equipments, vessel options, bespoke packages, bespoke training case study and lessons learnt, maintenance program as well as a client visits performed to Suriname during the COVID-19 pandemic.
