Meetings between MOIG and ANPE

Within the framework of the follow-up to MEDEXPOL 2013 recommendations, two meetings were held in 15 April and 04 May 2014 at MOIG office between MOIG Director and Mr Samir Khedira, Marine Pollution Deputy Manager and Ms Ahlem Marzouki, Expert Controler at National Agency of Environment Protection.

The main objectives of these meetings were to exchange views and respond to offshore action plan recommendation form requested by REMPEC; in compliance with the Tunisian regulations and Norms (JORT, National Norms and codes etc..); as well as the previous signed agreements.

The document has been submitted by ANPE to REMPEC on 06th May 2014.

Through this protocol, MOIG and ANPE confirm their significant contribution to sustainable development in Tunisia by taking measures to control, reduce or eliminate discharges and wastes in the Mediterranean Sea. This action represents an important improvement of cooperation between MOIG and Tunisian Government.

During these meeting, both parties have undertaken fruitful discussions on Oil Spill Preparedness and Response in Tunisia paving the way to strengthen the cooperation on information exchange between the two institutions.
