Following a visit to MOIG office in Tunisia by the AOST team on the 10th of April 2015, the MOIG Director was invited by AOST Group for reciprocal visit to Malta on 18th June 2015.

The main purpose of this visit was to discuss ways and means for future cooperation between MOIG and AOST Group.

During this visit, MOIG Director and Mr Adrien Bonnici, AOST Group Director discussed the main activities of AOST Group in Tunisia and the Mediterranean Region. In addition, a tour of the Base located just 500 meters away the port of Valletta, was conducted.

The visit was also intended to see the Company’s Oil Spill Response Capability in Malta. The MOIG Director was shown around the Training area, Oil Spill Response wash down area for decontamination and the warehouse, where Oil Spill Response equipment including support boat have been seen.

This visit offered to MOIG Director the opportunity to undertake fruitful discussions with OSRA International representatives on Oil Spill Preparedness and Response in the Mediterranean Region. This will pave the way to further strengthen cooperation between the two institutions.
