Upon request, MOIG provides advice to oil and gas industry in case of oil spill incidents, through its network of experts in the Mediterranean region and Europe.
MOIG provides advice in:
- Conducting activities focused on improving the existing level of preparedness and response capacities of members, oil and gas industry, governments, local authorities and other institutions involved
- Educating operational staff and experts involved in implementation of local, regional and national contingency plans
- Preparing and organizing Tier 1 and Tier 2 exercises to test and improve relevant preparedness and response systems of members
MOIG is available 24 hours, 07 days a week and 365 days of the year to coordinate and support the response to oil spill incidents, chemicals and other hazardous substances in the Mediterranean region.
