04 June 2026, The Mediterranean Oil Industry Group (MOIG), the Environmental Protection Engineering S.A. (EPE) and Polygreen International are pleased to invite you to the Regional Workshop titled “Strengthening Partnerships for Oil Spill Preparedness and Response”, which will be held from 03 to 05 November 2026 at the Royal Olympic Hotel, in Athens-Greece.

The main objectives of this workshop will be to provide an update on legal developments, ongoing projects, and initiatives at both national and regional levels, to enhance national and regional oil spill preparedness and response capability, to stay abreast of emerging technologies, to benefit from the technical expertise of manufacturers and response organizations, to share lessons learned and best practices from previous exercises as well as to develop communication and expert networks to support coordinated response efforts.

This event will host representatives from the Greek Government, oil and gas industry, manufacturers, response organizations, treatment companies, national and international institutions, academics and experts. It will provide an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and further enhance knowledge and skills in oil spill preparedness and response.

The first two days of the workshop will include technical oral presentations structured around the following topics:

1. Topic 1 : Contingency Planning and Legislation
2. Topic 2 : Latest Projects and Initiatives in the Mediterranean Region
3. Topic 3: Response Equipment and New Technologies
4. Topic 4 : Oil Spill Training and Modeling
5. Topic 5: Panel Discussion / Oral Presentations – Oil Spill Response Services and Challenges
6. Topic 6: Waste Management and Wastewater Treatment
7. Topic 7: Regional and National Emergency Response

The third day of the event will be dedicated to a visit to the Polygreen facility, followed by a drill exercise that will be conducted by EPE at Elefsis Port. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the facility and observe the real-time deployment of oil spill response equipment.
