31 may 2024, MOIG and MEKE Marine are very pleased to invite your organization to the “Regional Workshop on Oil Spill Preparedness and Response: Commitment and Synergy” that will be held; from 12 to 14 November 2024; in Elite World Hotel in Istanbul-Turkey.
The main objectives of this workshop will be to improve the level of preparedness and response, to promote international sharing of best practices and lessons learned from previous oil spill incidents and exercises, to stay abreast of the newest technologies, to benefit from responders and manufactures technical expertise and to enhance communication and expert networking.
This event will host representatives from Turkish Government, Oil and Gas Industry, Manufacturers, Responders, National and International Organizations, Academics and Experts and will be a good opportunity to exchange ideas as well as to improve knowledge and skills on oil spill preparedness and response.
The first two days workshop programme will include technical oral presentations hinged around the following topics:
· Topic 1 : Contingency planning & Regulatory and legal requirements
· Topic 2 : New developed projects in the Mediterranean region
· Topic 3: Oil spill modeling and training
· Topic 4 : Response equipment and new technology
· Topic 5 : Panel Discussion : Oil spill response services and challenges
· Topic 6 : Waste management and wastewater treatment
· Topic 7 : National and regional emergency response
The third day event will be dedicated to the visit of the Directorate of National Maritime Safety (UDEB); located in Tekridag in the Northwest of Marmara sea in Turkey. Participants will be afforded the opportunity to see all the areas of the Centre.
