MOIG Coordinated a Meeting in TRAPSA Terminal related to creation of Tier 2 Coordination Centers

Following a visit to IEMS response center in Management on 20 and 21 July 2014, IEMS was invited by ETAP for a reciprocal visit to Tunisia in order to meet with the respective stakeholders in Tunisia, to discuss oil spill prevention, preparedness and response.

IEMS and its regional partner SWIRE-ERS visited Tunisia between the 09 and 11 March 2015.
It has been concluded by ETAP that a similar system of Tier 2 response center management as observed in Egypt would further enhance the response capacity of the oil and gas sector in Tunisia.

TRAPSA management demonstrated the high quality of terminal management pursued and maintains constant focus on environmental protection.

MOIG coordinated; on 09 March 2015; a high level meeting attended by relevant stakeholders at TRAPSA terminal in Skhira.

Key stakeholders from the Ministries of Industry, National Defence, Environment, Interior, engaged in various discussions on the road map to the development of a Tier 2 coordination system in Tunisia.

It was clear that there is a complete support from all the senior stakeholders to develop the Tunisian management system and response centers with ETAP leading the concept.

All future developments on the Tier 2 coordination system in Tunisia shall be provided to MOIG members and technical partners through MOIG newsletters.
