21-22 March 2022, the MOIG Director participated to INTERSPILL 2022, the European Oil Spill Conference and Exhibition which took place at the RAI Centre, in Amsterdam-Netherlands.

The event gathered International associations and organizations, manufacturers, responders, services companies, experts and consultants working on oil spill prevention, preparedness and response from all over world to meet and share knowledge.

The conference featured oral communications, poster presentations, science workshops and courses. The main conference programme was organized around sessions on a diverse set of topics including trends in propulsion, incident management, contingency planning & preparedness, surveillance modeling & visualization, shipping risks, incident management (experiences and the pandemic), offshore surface response, subsea response, inland response, shoreline response, wildlife, emerging technology, dispersant, issue of plastic pollution, claims for environmental damage and post spill studies, sensitive tropical environments and atmospheric pollution from chemical slicks.

During the conference, a meeting was performed with ATRAC representatives in which was discussed the technical and logistical arrangements of the regional workshop on Enhancing Oil Spill Preparedness and Response in the Adriatic and the Mediterranean Regions that will be held from 25 to 27 October 2022, in Opatija-Croatia.

The event was also a good opportunity to meet the attending members, technical partners and response companies such as: CEDRE, DESMI, VIKOMA, LAMOR, OSRL, REMPEC, MEKE MARINE, NEW NAVAL, IEMS and ELEGY.

We were very delighted with the outcome of these meetings, members and technical partners expressed their full support to the regional workshop to be held in Opatija-Croatia and MOIG future activities.
