Mahmoud Kamour

Mahmoud Kamour is a Senior Advisor at NOC-Libya and has been MOIG’s Chairman since 2012. He graduated in 1977 from Tripoli University Bsc in Petroleum Engineering. Mahmoud has Master degree in Environment and Safety Engineering obtained in 1983 from University of Wisconsin in USA. He joined the Occidental Corporation of Libya in 1978 and was transferred to National Oil Corporation in 2004 as an Environmental Department Manager. From 1989 to 2000, he was elected as General Secretary of the Arab Federation of Oil, Chemical and Mining. During this time, he was an observer in the International Labor Organization and observer member in the International Federation of the Arab Workers. From 2006 to 2009, he was member of Climate Change Committee. In 2008, he was the Chairman of preparation Committee of the First International Environmental Petroleum Conference in Libya. He participated actively in the updating and the development of Emergency Response Plans and specially the Offshore Oil Spill Contingency Plan.
